Black Rifle Coffee Review

In this review, we will try to have a little bit of spotlight on the brand making this. Then we will check the size of the bag and how it looks in the package. We’ll also review what type of coffee this is, what roast, grind, flavor, and notes it has.

Brand

Black Rifle Coffee Review

The Murdered-Out coffee is made by the Black Rifle Coffee Company. The brand is owned by a military veteran and serves premium coffee across the US.  The coffee beans used by Black Rifle are of premium quality and imported from Brazil and Colombia. They are roasted in Manchester, Tennessee, and Salt Lake City, Utah.

Blend

The Murdered-Out coffee is a blend of Brazilian beans and Colombian beans. These are used in creating a smooth ground with a robust flavor. The extra dark roast coffee has a bold aroma with a smoky flavor. It’s an American blended coffee for rugged drinkers.

Type

The type of coffee beans used for this is a blend of arabica beans. They are Brazilian and Colombian arabica coffee beans. They are not organic but have a tasty note and are bold and strong in taste.

The coffee product is roasted in two locations in the United States; that is, Manchester, Tennessee, and in Salt Lake City in Utah.

Grind

This coffee product is available in ground and beans versions. So, if you don’t have a lot of time to start grinding the beans before beginning the brewing process, you’ll find the right one with this product. Likewise, if you love to get involved in every stage of coffee brewing and love to customize your coffee to your taste, there is the one in coffee beans versions.

The coffee is simply flavored, roasted, and packed. This is the most sought-after by coffee connoisseurs and skilled baristas who cannot trade their coffee brewing skills for any pre-ground coffee. However, you will need a coffee or espresso machine that has a grinder.

Roast

This is an extra dark coffee roast. If you are a fan of dark roast coffee, we think this is a good coffee for you. Meanwhile, those who are accustomed to light and medium roast coffee will find it odd. It’s not for light and medium roast drinkers.

Flavor and Notes

The coffee is very rich in flavor. It is dark, smoky, and bold. There is a lot of body in the coffee. It can be prepared with some cream or a splash of milk and can be used for making delicious espresso.

One of the most interesting things to note is while it was brewing in the pot, it has a really bright lime scent. But oddly enough, once you get it in a cup, you would not smell lime anymore. It has a little bit of a citrus note, but it’s faint. It has some cocoa flavor, and there’s still some of that chocolatey goodness like it smells right out of the bag when it’s brewed.

The aroma is like cocoa puffs and almost reminds one of chocolatey cereal, and then there’s a little bit of saltiness mixed in with everything else. In taste, it has no bitterness or harshness. It has a good smooth finish and is very drinkable.

Caffeine Content

This coffee has not been decaffeinated. It’s a caffeinated coffee product. It’s a bold coffee that is not meant for the fainthearted. However, the caffeine content is low. It’s not liked the Black Rifle CAF coffee, which has twice the punch of caffeine as in other coffee products. Meanwhile, like the CAF product, this still has a rich and smoky flavor.

If the caffeine content is a concern for you, you may go for decaffeinated versions such as the Just Decaf coffee.

Bag Size

The product is packed in a 12-ounce bag. When converted to grams, the coffee bag is 372 grams in size. The product is a pack of one. It also measures 74.37 cubic inches. The coffee has military-themed packaging, and it is designed with a Ziploc which makes opening and closing it back very convenient.

Price Tag

The Black Rifle Murdered Out is a bit pricey. But the value to price is fair. The product is roasted dark from a high-quality coffee blend, and when you consider that they are produced to also support a cause, the price may be a bit justified. The 12-ounce bag costs more than $20. However, it’s within the same price range as all coffee products in Black Rifle’s lineup. It costs almost the same as the AK-47, Beyond Black, Blackbeard’s Delight, CAF, Coffee Saves, Coffee or Die, Fit Fuel, Freedom Fuel, Freedom Roast, Gunship, Just Black, Just Decaf, Silencer Smooth, and The Thin Blue Line. But there is a little price difference between these products – about $1 to $5. Fair enough!

Key Features

Black Rifle Coffee Review

Some of the key features which make the coffee stand out are its roast type, the bean type, the flavor, and the grind. These features are further explained below:

  • Available in ground and beans versions: For those of you who are always put off about the ground coffee, this is available in both ground and whole bean versions.
  • Arabica beans: The coffee is roasted and ground from the most popular coffee bean type – Arabica. They are Brazilian and Colombian beans blended.
  • Extra-dark roast: These coffee beans look dark. They were roasted to be extra dark for those who like the dark and strong coffee taste.
  • Smoky and bold taste: The flavor of the coffee is smoky, bold, and it’s caffeinated. The shot of caffeine in this is, however, on average. It’s not as caffeinated as the Black Rifle CAF coffee.

PROS

CONS

  • Nice smokey and bold taste
  • Obtainable in the ground and whole beans
  • Easy to open and a resealable Ziploc bag
  • Supports veterans
  • High-quality blend
  • It’s not decaffeinated
  • Fairly pricey

The Black Rifle Coffee is a coffee product blended by a brand that supports first responders, law enforcement, and military veterans. Should you try this coffee? Well, we think it should be right for you if you love extra dark coffee. If you are strictly a fan of medium roast or light roast coffee, then this isn’t for you. We liked the unique military-themed packaging of the coffee. It has a deeply flavorful, strong, and bold taste as well.
