If we had a dollar for everyone who believed that using a microwave for heating food causes cancer, we’d be pretty rich. However, from experience and research, there is no proof that heating a cup of coffee causes any damage.
Since we have established that you are not in any danger, how can you use this method? It is pretty straightforward.
- Choose a microwave-safe cup.
- Pour your coffee into the mug (don’t fill it in case the coffee boils out of the cup).
- Place in the microwave
- Leave it in for half a minute
- Stir and check the temperature
- When you feel it’s hot enough to drink, remove it
Although your microwave-heated coffee will usually come with a bitter taste, you can always add flavor to it.
How to reheat coffee without a microwave
If you’d rather reheat without a microwave, or if you don’t have it available, you can use other methods.
One of such methods is the stove-top method.
This method might take longer than the microwave process, but it doesn’t cause the coffee to taste as bitter. Here’s what to do:
- Fill the small pot with the cold coffee
- Place it on the stove and set it to low or medium-low heat
- Stir as it heats up
- Remove when you feel it’s hot enough
